BACKGROUND

This item authorizes an increase in the purchase price for the acquisition from Aristeo Hernandez, of approximately 50,711 square feet of land located near the intersection of Scottsdale Drive and Military Parkway in Dallas County, Texas for the Dallas Water Utilities Distribution Division Scottsdale Drive Project. The location will be used as operations, fleet parking and storage for equipment and supplies that assist the Dallas Water Utilities Distribution Division in the maintenance of major water distribution lines from the water treatment plants and servicing all City of Dallas customers and to customer cities. The City obtained an independent appraisal. The owner's counteroffer was deemed acceptable and allowed the City to avoid use of eminent domain. Relocation benefits are estimated to be $5,000.00.

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

On September 12, 2018, City Council authorized acquisition from Aristeo Hernandez, of approximately 50,711 square feet of land located near the intersection of Scottsdale Drive and Military Parkway for the Dallas Water Utilities Distribution Division Scottsdale Drive Project by Resolution No. 18-1251.
