Title
Authorize a construction contract for the installation and rehabilitation of water and wastewater mains at three locations and the Azalea Drainage Relief Improvement (list attached to the Agenda Information Sheet) - Thalle Construction Co., Inc., lowest responsible bidder of four - Not to exceed $13,198,722.40 - Financing: Water Construction Fund ($3,620,400.00), Wastewater Capital Improvement E Fund ($7,630,096.40) and Storm Drainage Management Capital Construction Fund ($1,948,226.00)

Body
BACKGROUND

This action consists of the installation and rehabilitation of approximately 4,300 feet of 16-inch diameter water pipeline and approximately 13,200 feet of 8-inch through 48-inch wastewater pipeline in Ash Creek, Cedar Springs Branch, and Ledbetter Drive. In addition, approximately 530 feet of 54-inch stormwater pipe will be constructed for drainage relief at Azalea Lane.
The water and wastewater pipeline improvements are necessary to meet current and future capacity demands based on modeling and master plan projections. Storm drainage improvements are necessary to address flooding at several properties along Azalea Lane between Westmere Circle and Eastview Circle. The proposed improvements will reduce surface impoundment during storm events and will be sized to meet drainage capacity needs. Once complete, the pipeline projects will improve the capacity of the water, wastewater, and storm sewer systems and reduce maintenance costs.
Thalle Construction Co., Inc.'s has had no contractual activities with the City of Dallas in the past three years.
