BACKGROUND

On May 8, 2019, City of Dallas accepted an application for a Street Name change from Tufts Road, between Cade Road and Rylie Road to "Don Belknap Drive". The reasons given for this application are "to honor the founder of the school on Rylie Road. Mr. Belknap founded A+ Academy on Rylie Road in 1998 and worked to make it successful until his death on March 20, 2009."

On May 10, 2019, notices of the proposed Street Name Change were sent to the appropriate City Departments and other affected entities in accordance with Section 51A-9.305(a) of the Dallas Development Code.

On May 20, 2019, notification signs were put up on Tufts Road, between Cade Road and Rylie Road notifying the community of the proposed street name change in accordance with Section 51A-9.305(c). On May 21, 2019 notices for Subdivision Review Committee were sent to 3 property owners notifying them of the proposed street name change. The newspaper notice was published on May 20, 2019. On June 6, 2019, Subdivision Review Committee by unanimous vote recommended approval of the proposed Street Name Change.

On June 28, 2019, notices for City Plan Commission Hearing were sent to 3 property owners notifying them of the proposed Street Name Change in accordance with Section 51A-9.306(b). The newspaper notice was published on July 1, 2019. On August 1, 2019 City Plan Commission by una...
