Body
BACKGROUND

On August 27, 2008, City Council authorized a professional services contract with TranSystems Corporation for the engineering design of the Deep Ellum Streetscape Project by Resolution No. 08-2271.

This action will authorize Supplemental Agreement No. 8 to the professional services contract with TranSystems Corporation for additional engineering design of parkway improvements on Main Street from Good Latimer Expressway to Exposition Avenue for the Deep Ellum Streetscape Project.

These services will include plan view layouts that identify specific locations for parkway improvements, including necessary sidewalk and landscape repair details, as these improvements will not provide a full reconstruction of the area, but rather necessary "spot" repairs of the damaged sidewalk.

The project scope has been continually developed to accommodate additional pedestrian-oriented design concepts for the referenced segment identified by the surrounding community's desire to improve citizen safety concerns in the area, and to improve upon the original concepts.
