BACKGROUND

This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of a service price agreement is to establish firm pricing for services, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis according to annual budgetary appropriations. The estimated amount is intended as guidance rather than a cap on spending under the agreement, so that actual need combined with the amount budgeted will determine the amount spent under this agreement.

This service price agreement will provide for litter maintenance services and trash removal at City-owned parks, recreation centers, aquatic centers, and splash grounds for the Park and Recreation Department. The agreement will provide litter pick-up maintenance service of approximately 399 parks within the City's six park maintenance districts. Contractors will perform litter pick-up services on a pre-determined maintenance frequency established by the Park and Recreation Department. Maintenance frequencies will vary in each park based on the amount of traffic and the time of year.
