BACKGROUND

A professional services contract for engineering design services was authorized with Datum Engineers, Inc. for the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center (KBHCCD) F Hall Roof Truss Repair.

A job order contract estimate for construction was received on August 23, 2017 for the KBHCCD F Hall Roof Truss Repair. The estimate was over the $500,000.00 limit.

A Request for Competitive Sealed Proposals (RFCSP) was publicly advertised on October 26, 2017, by the Department of Equipment and Building Services for the KBHCCD F Hall Roof Truss Repair.

One competitive sealed proposal was received on November 7, 2017 for the construction of the KBHCCD F Hall Roof Truss Repair.

Phoenix I Restoration and Construction, Ltd. is recommended for award of this construction contract as the best value proposer following an evaluation process of the RFCSP received to provide construction services for the repair of the two structural trusses above the F Hall Roof.

An RFCSP was publicly advertised on November 20, 2019, for submittals by qualified contractors for evaluation by a selection committee comprised of City staff familiar with design and construction of City facilities.
