BACKGROUND

The City of Dallas, through the Office of Community Care, seeks to provide financial support to city of Dallas area childcare providers who have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This support is in an effort to support childcare providers who have lost substantial revenue and seen increased expenses as a result of COVID-19. Childcare providers have provided services to children of essential workers throughout this pandemic within the city of Dallas. Some had to close their doors temporarily due to the effects of COVID-19, and others have experienced added expenses due to extra cleaning requirements, hiring extra staff, and most have seen a decline in the number of children they serve. This funding is designed to help the providers with the losses and result in keeping their doors open.

Eligible participants of this program will include childcare providers who have experienced loss of income, decreased enrollment and/or increased costs due to COVID-19. Participants must meet the following qualifications (as outlined in the attached Exhibit A - Program Statement):
