body

BACKGROUND

This item authorizes acquisition from the City of Carrollton, containing approximately 230 acres of land located in Dallas County. This property will be used for the construction of a pre-sedimentation basin system to improve the raw water quality for the Elm Fork Water Treatment Plant. The consideration is based on an independent appraisal. There are no relocation benefits associated.

This acquisition is part of the right-of-way required to construct a pre-sedimentation system to improve the raw water quality for the Elm Fork Water Treatment Plant. The construction of the pre-sedimentation basins will decrease the suspended solids content compared to the river, and thereby increase the efficiency of the treatment process and reduce the plant’s operation and maintenance requirements.
