BACKGROUND

The Department of Aviation in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration specifications and guidelines, will award a construction contract for the reconstruction of Runway 13R/31L at Dallas Love Field. The surface of the runway must be reconstructed to meet federal guidelines and provide safety for airport operations.  Prior to reconstruction, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company d/b/a AT&T must be granted access to the Airport to relocate and reinstall equipment, wiring, and utilities within a designated infrastructure area adjacent to the runway.

Runway 13R/31L was originally constructed in 1965 and serves as one of the primary runways for commercial and general aviation takeoffs and landings at Dallas Love Field.  The runway was last rehabilitated in 1990.  The scope includes but is not limited to demolition, removal, reconstruction, realignment, and relocation of runway material and utilities such as AT&T services.
