Authorize an increase in the construction services contract with Turner Construction Company for the expansion of the Latino Cultural Center located at 2600 Live Oak Street - Not to exceed $124,473.23, from $3,234,118.17, to $3,358,591.40 - Financing: Cultural Arts Facilities (2006 General Obligation Bond Fund)

BACKGROUND
This action will authorize a net increase to the construction contract with Turner Construction Company for enhancements and modifications to the original scope including modifications to the Fire Suppression system, code mandated revisions identified during the permitting process, the elimination of an exterior masonry wall enclosure, and touchless fixtures as a response to COVID-19. This action will also authorize a credit for the redesign of the Black Box wall enclosure from Concrete Masonry Unit to concrete Tilt-Wall.
Deferral of this item would delay the completion date for the expansion of the facility, which is currently on-schedule for public grand opening in March 2021.
