Authorize a construction contract for the construction of Alley Reconstruction Group 17-7003 (list attached to the Agenda Information sheet) - Camino Construction, L.P., lowest responsible bidder of eight - Not to exceed $2,893,597.80 - Financing: Street and Transportation (A) Fund (2017 General Obligation Bond Funds) ($2,149,850.80), Water Utilities Capital Improvement D Fund ($114,508.00), Wastewater Utilities Capital Improvement E Fund ($613,039.00), Water Utilities Capital Construction Fund ($1,000.00), and Wastewater Utilities Capital Construction Fund ($15,200.00)

BACKGROUND
This action will authorize a construction contract with Camino Construction, L.P. for the construction of six alley reconstruction projects as Alley Reconstruction Group 17-7003.
The project scope will include replacing the existing deteriorating alleys with reinforced concrete pavement, storm drainage, and water and wastewater improvements.
Camino Construction, L.P. is a Lewisville, Texas-based corporation.
Following are the locations and construction costs for each project:

If this project is not awarded for construction at this time, the alleys will continue to deteriorate causing additional pavement cracking and potholes to form, creating additional maintenance costs for the City and potential damages to vehicles utilizing the alleys. Field conditions may also change, which will require modifications to the engineering design plans, requiring additional funding and time to address.
