BACKGROUND

 

Since 2002, the City of Dallas has received the "Click It or Ticket" Mobilization Grant which provides for the reimbursement of overtime salaries paid to officers enforcing seatbelt and child safety seat laws at locations throughout the City of Dallas.

 

This grant is part of the National Traffic Safety Plan and is awarded to Texas Department of Transportation grant recipients.

 

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

 

 

On April 26, 2017, City Council authorized an application for and acceptance of the “Click It or Ticket” Mobilization Grant from the Texas Department of Transportation for a safety belt enforcement initiative for the period May 2, 2017 through June 10, 2017; a City contribution of pension and Federal Insurance Contributions Act costs; and execution of the grant agreement by Resolution No. 17-0697.

 

On April 11, 2018, City Council authorized an application for and acceptance of the “Click It or Ticket” Mobilization Grant from the Texas Department of Transportation for a safety belt enforcement initiative for the period May 2, 2018 through June 10, 2018; a City contribution of pension and Federal Insurance Contributions Act costs; and execution of the grant agreement by Resolution No. 18-0552.

 

On May 8, 2019, City Council authorized an application for and acceptance of the “Click It or Ticket” Mobilization Grant from the Texas Department of Transportation for a safety belt enforcement initiative for the period May 17, 2019 through June 5, 2019; a City contribution of pension and Federal Insurance Contributions Act costs; and execution of the grant agreement by Resolution No. 19-0724.
