BACKGROUND

This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of a service contract is to establish firm pricing for services, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis.

This service contract will provide for lead based paint remediation services as part of the Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes Grant Program. This program is designed to reduce or eliminate health and safety hazards related to lead-based paint in residential homes. As part of the overall program the awarded contractor will address any lead based paint instances identified in the initial inspection and assessment conducted in City resident homes built prior to 1978 and occupied by income eligible families with children under the age of six years old. The initial inspection and assessment report will also include a remediation work plan to be conducted by the contractor awarded through this item. The initial inspection and assessment services will be carried out by a separate supplier under a different contract.
