BACKGROUND

This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of a service contract is to establish firm pricing for services, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis.

This Supplemental Agreement will provide for continued voice and data network services, network management, monitoring, maintenance, Information Technology security, and related services for the Department of Information and Technology Services. This agreement is essential for ensuring the City's network is operable and managed. The agreement provides 24x7 network and security monitoring and technical support. The contract also includes on-site resources who assist with resolving complex network issues that could result in interruption of services throughout the City. The current network supports approximately 300 applications, 8,076 telephones, and connects over 700 facilities.

The renewal of this agreement will allow continued network support for essential business services that include but are not limited to:

* City's E9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point system
* Network circuits connecting City facilities
* Network Wi-Fi and internet for residents in City public facilities (libraries, Park and Recreation, community centers, and others)
