BACKGROUND

 

Plaintiff Javier Saenz filed a lawsuit against Dallas Police Department Officer Elvin Calix-Barahona seeking compensation for alleged bodily injuries and other damages sustained in a police encounter on June 23, 2018, wherein Mr. Saenz alleges that Officer Calix Barahona used excessive force during his arrest, in violation of Mr. Saenz’s Fourth Amendment rights.  The City, on behalf of Officer Elvin Calix-Barahona, and Mr. Saenz have reached a proposed settlement subject to City Council approval.  Plaintiff is represented by Scott H. Palmer.
