BACKGROUND

This item authorizes an amendment to an existing lease agreement with SVEA Industrial I, LLC, to (1) extend the lease agreement for an additional five-years; and (2) provide for Additional Lease Rental for leasehold improvements for approximately 7,980 square feet of office and clinic space located at 8202 Spring Valley Road, Suite 100 to be used as a Women, Infants and Children ("WIC") Clinic.

The WIC Program is a United States Department of Agriculture program administered in Texas by the Department of State Health Services. The countywide program has been administered by the City of Dallas since 1974 and is overseen by the Office of Community Care. The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for WIC Program provides nutritious foods through electronic benefits transfer ("EBT") cards redeemed at local grocery stores, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and support, and referrals to health services. The program serves pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding women, infants and children under age five.

The five-year extension will begin January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2025.
