BACKGROUND

 

On January 22, 2020, City Council authorized a construction services contract with SYB Construction Company, Inc. for the installation of water and wastewater mains at six locations by Resolution No. 20-0221. After award of the contract, storm drainage concerns were identified at the intersection of Douglas Avenue and Joyce Way. Upon field investigation and coordination, it was determined that storm drainage improvements were warranted, and it was deemed most efficient to include the additional work as a part of this construction contract that includes water and wastewater main improvements in Douglas Avenue and Joyce Way.

 

This action will authorize Change Order No. 1 to the construction services contract with SYB Construction Company, Inc. for storm drainage improvements at the intersection of Douglas Avenue and Joyce Way. The additional work will not increase the contract duration and will provide for better drainage at this intersection.
