BACKGROUND

The Dallas Police Department's senior leadership team regularly oversees large-scale events such as protests, dignitary visits, and other public gatherings that do not rise to the level of emergency status requiring the use of the Emergency Operations Center. During these incidents, executive staff members communicate with field commanders over the radio and share information to guide decision-making and prevent the escalation of these incidents.

This grant funding will aid in acquiring teleconferencing equipment for the executive staff to communicate effectively with field commanders as well as to create a meeting space capable of supporting social distancing guidelines.
