BACKGROUND

On July 23, 2020, the City Manager received a memorandum signed by three Council members to consider an application to change the name of South Lamar Street between Interstate 30 and South-Central Expressway, to "Botham Jean Boulevard".

On July 24, 2020, the Subdivision Section received a memorandum signed by Council members.

On August 17, 2020, notification signs were put up on South Lamar Street between Interstate 30 and South-Central Expressway in accordance with Section 51A-9.503(b) of the Dallas Development Code to change the street name to "Botham Jean Boulevard".

On August 17, 2020, notices for Subdivision Review Committee were sent to 122 property owners notifying them of the proposed street name change. The newspaper notice was published on August 17, 2020.

On September 3, 2020, the Subdivision Review Committee held the above case under advisement to September 17, 2020.

On September 17, 2020, the Subdivision Review Committee by unanimous vote recommended approval of the Street Name Change.

Notices for the City Plan Commission Hearing were sent on October 6, 2020 to 122 property owners notifying them of the proposed street name change.
