BACKGROUND
This action will authorize an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Plano for construction of the Preston Ridge Trail Connector in the City of Dallas city limits located on the east side of Ohio Drive to the existing City of Dallas Preston Ridge Trail (Exhibit A).
The trail master plans of the City of Dallas and the City of Plano envision the Preston Ridge Trail, so named in each municipality, connecting at Ohio Drive. This vital connection into each city’s trail system provides trail users access to each City’s vast and rapidly expanding connected trail systems.
To make this connection, the City must execute an agreement with the City of Plano to provide for the Preston Ridge Trail connection within the City of Dallas city limits.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On January 14, 2021, the Park and Recreation Board authorized an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Plano for construction of the Preston Ridge Trail Connector in the City of Dallas city limits from the City of Plano city limits at the south side of the President George Bush Turnpike at Ohio Drive to the termination of the existing Preston Ridge Trail.
