BACKGROUND

This cooperative purchasing agreement will allow for the purchase and installation of a modular building for the Water Utilities Department. The 84 feet x 60 feet building will come with security screens/bars on the doors and windows will be utilized by the Stormwater Operations Division of the Dallas Water Utilities Department.

The Stormwater Operations Division of the Dallas Water Utilities Department operates and maintains the City's drainage system that includes public creeks, rivers, and associated infrastructure. A significant portion of stormwater operations and maintenance activities are performed from the facilities currently located at 2255 Irving Boulevard.

The placement of a modular building will provide a temporary location for Stormwater Operations Division staff to maintain and monitor citywide drainage systems and house critical infrastructure associated with the supervisory control and data acquisition and ALERT systems, while a new facility is being constructed. This facility operates 24 hours a day, will be located on existing Stormwater Operations Division property adjacent to the Baker Pump Station and Dallas Levee System.
