BACKGROUND

The City of Dallas has an interest in collaborative working relationships with external entities to enhance and maximize efficiency for coordination for workforce development and economic growth. The City of Dallas also has an interest in streamlining the agreement process for these programming collaborations.

This resolution authorizes the Office of Economic Development as a designee of the City Manager to establish collaborative programming and relationships with external entities to advance workforce and economic development. This resolution also authorizes the Office of Economic Development, as a designee of the City Manager to execute interlocal agreements and other agreements as may be necessary to implement the collaborations and programming. It does not appropriate any funds to those agreements. Any required appropriation would be handled separately by Administrative Action or Council resolution, as appropriate.

The collaborative entities may include education and healthcare institutions and other public and private entities as they relate to collaborations and collaborative programming to further workforce and economic development.
