SUBJECT

Title

Authorize an increase to the construction services contract with DDM Construction Corporation to allow for additional removal of concrete pavement for Street Reconstruction Group 17-6001 (list attached to the Agenda Information Sheet) - Not to exceed $390,996.63, from $4,181,920.70 to $4,572,917.33 - Financing: Street and Transportation (A) Fund (2017 General Obligation Bond Fund)

Body

BACKGROUND

Due to unforeseen field conditions, the quantities of bid item 201- REMOVE CONCRETE PAVEMENT, DRIVE AND APRON will substantially exceed the original calculated amount. The construction documents do not show reinforced concrete pavement underneath the asphalt road since the bore logs that were provided by the geotechnical investigation do not illustrate any reinforced concrete underneath the roadway. The bid quantities were accounted for as unclassified street excavation for Street Reconstruction Group 17-6001.

This action will authorize payment for all additional concrete removals needed to complete the project.

Delays in processing the change order will lead to payment interruption to the contractor.

Following are the locations and costs for each project:
