BACKGROUND

 

Chapter 39A of the Dallas Code of the City of Dallas provides moving expense and replacement housing payments for individuals displaced by the City of Dallas in conjunction with its real property acquisition activities.

On January 13, 2021, City Council authorized the acquisition of real property known as 2922 Alex Street for the Cadillac Heights Phase II Project by Resolution No. 21-0125.

Jose Luis DeLeon and Maria E. DeLeon have been displaced as a direct result of this property acquisition. They qualify for a moving expense payment of up to $1,900.00 and a last resort calculated replacement housing payment of up to $87,000.00 pursuant to the Dallas City Code and will use the replacement housing payment to acquire a replacement property.

 

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

 

On January 13, 2021, City Council authorized the acquisition from Jose Luis DeLeon and Maria E. DeLeon of approximately 5,252 square feet of land improved with a single-family dwelling located near the intersection of Alex and Childers Streets for Cadillac Heights Phase II Project by Resolution No. 21-0125.
