BACKGROUND
The replacement of Fire Station No. 46 facility was approved in the 2017 Bond Program by Dallas voters.
On April 10, 2019, Harrison Walker & Harper, LLC., was awarded the design-build services contract of the new Fire Station No. 46 replacement facility to be located at 331 East Camp Wisdom Road by Resolution No. 19-0499.
This action will authorize an increase to the design-build contract with Harrison Walker & Harper, LLC. for the installation of the radio alerting system for this replacement facility.
Deferral of this item would delay the project’s completion date, which will negatively impact response times for Fire Station No. 46 service area. Fire Station No. 46 provides crucial fire and rescue services to the citizens of Dallas. The new facility is currently expected to open in July 2021.

On April 10, 2019, City Council authorized a design-build services contract with Harrison Walker & Harper, LLC. for design and pre-construction services, an early construction package, and architectural and engineering services for the design and construction of the Fire Station No. 46 replacement facility by Resolution No. 19-0499.
On December 11, 2019, City Council authorized a Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the design-build services contract with Harrison Walker & Harper, LLC. to provide construction services for the new Fire Station No. 46 replacement facility by Resolution No. 19-1881.
