BACKGROUND

This action does not encumber funds; the purpose of this contract is to establish firm pricing for services, for a specific term, which are ordered on an as needed basis.

This service contract will provide for short term assistance to households experiencing the possibility of homelessness. The awarded organizations will qualify households that are facing obstacles to obtain or maintaining housing.

Short term assistance provided through the awarded contracts can be used in a variety of ways provided they directly result in a housing solution. Eligible financial assistance includes, but is not limited to:

* Payment for background and credit checks
* Costs associated with moving
* Utility assistance
* Rental/utility arrears
* Transportation
* Grocery cards
* Fees for securing documentation or certifications
* Work or education related assistance

Additionally, funds are available for the awarded organizations to promote additional services they have available such as mental health, substance abuse, and immediate housing placement.
