BACKGROUND
This action will authorize eight contracts for construction materials testing services for the installation of capital improvement projects, including water and wastewater pipelines, erosion control and storm drainage, and water treatment facilities. Construction materials testing is required to ensure the installation meets project requirements and specifications. Testing services include soil and base material testing, in-place density and compaction testing, aggregate testing, concrete testing, asphaltic concrete testing, coring services, non-destructive testing, and other quality assurance related services as needed.
A total of eight firms were selected to perform construction materials testing services based on submitted qualifications and past performance in accordance with the City of Dallas Administrative Directive 4-05 procurement guidelines. The contracts will cover a period of three years and provide necessary testing services for capital improvement projects implemented by Dallas Water Utilities.
