body
BACKGROUND

The Department of Equipment and Fleet Management applied for funding from the TCEQ Alternative Fueling Facilities Program. The City owns and operates an existing fast fill CNG facility at the southeast service center and utilizes retail CNG fueling stations operated by Clean Energy to meet other site-specific fueling needs within the City of Dallas.

This $400,000.00 grant award will allow the City to construct a fast fill CNG facility within the Northwest Service Center at 9811 Harry Hines Boulevard. Currently, City vehicles and equipment fuel at a Clean Energy retail location which is not geographically efficient for operations in the northwest quadrant of the City. This project will save staff time previously lost to fueling and allow for resiliency in continuity of operations.
