BACKGROUND

Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) provides water, wastewater, and storm water services to approximately 2.5 million customers in the City of Dallas and neighboring communities. DWU currently operates the Beltwood Pump Station and ground storage reservoirs located at Belt Line Road and Inwood Road immediately south of the Addison Airport. This critical pump station serves the North High Pressure Zone as well as the Meandering Way High and Intermediate Pressure Zone with a pumping capacity of 157 million gallons per day. The Beltwood Pump Station is over 60 years old and based on a recent assessment of the facility has exceeded its useful life.

Carollo Engineers, Inc. will assess existing DWU pumping and distribution operations to develop a new facility that is reliable, safe, and easy to maintain. They will also evaluate operation and maintenance practices for optimization, and address and incorporate sustainable practices and energy management. Following preliminary design efforts, a supplemental agreement will be necessary to complete the final design and authorize construction phase engineering services. Cons...
