BACKGROUND
This item authorizes an increase in the purchase amount of acquisition from Ralph Messera and Faith B. Fuccio, of approximately 963 square feet of land located in Van Zandt County. This property will be used for the construction of the Lake Tawakoni 144-inch Transmission Pipeline Project. This settlement will allow acquisition of the property without condemnation proceedings.
The first resolution approved on May 26, 2021, authorized the purchase price in the total amount of $345.00. The settlement will avoid increased costs associated with construction delays, commissioners' costs, updated appraisal reports, court filing fees and uncertainty associated with possibility of commissioners' award being higher than the negotiated amount of $1,000.00. The consideration is based on an independent appraisal. There are no relocation benefits associated.
