Authorize an amendment to Resolution No. 20-1728, previously approved on October 28, 2020, to amend the 2021 City Calendar to (1) include October 11, 2021 as a City Holiday in recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day/Columbus Day; (2) move the Workforce, Education and Equity Committee and the Public Safety Committee to Tuesday, October 12th; and (3) include November 11, 2021 as a City Holiday in recognition of Veterans Day - Financing: No cost consideration to the City (see Fiscal Information)

BACKGROUND
Resolution No. 89-3796 requires the City Council to adopt an annual calendar. Resolution No. 90-2673 establishes the annual July recess. Resolution No. 19-1606 requires the second Wednesday meeting each month to begin at 3:00 p.m.
On March 25, 2020, City Council voted to begin all regular City Council meetings at 9:00 a.m. during the state of disaster issued by Mayor Johnson. The City Calendar includes all City Council briefing and agenda meetings, budget briefings and workshops, Council Committee meetings, and City holidays. The City Calendar is available on the City’s website at www.dallascityhall.com and is made available in the Mayor and City Council Office to all residents who request copies. The City Calendar is also available for download and synching into calendar software on computers or mobile devices via a link on the City’s website.
The 2021 City Calendar was last amended in February 2021.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On March 25, 2020, City Council authorized a resolution amending Section 6.1(c)(1) of the City Council Rules of Procedure to state that the City Council voting agenda meeting begin at 9:00 a.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, with public hearings being conducted no earlier than 1:00 p.m., by Resolution No. 20-0495.
The Government Performance and Financial Management Committee was briefed on the 2021 City Calendar on September 22, 2020.
City Council was briefed on the 2021 City Calendar on October 7, 2020.
On October 28, 2020, City Council authorized the adoption of the 2021 City Calendar by Resolution No. 20-1728.
The Government Performance and Financial Management was briefed on the 2021 City Calendar Amendments on January 25, 2021.
On February 24, 2021, City Council authorized an amendment to the calendar to (1) revise the date of the 2021 City Council Inauguration to June 14, 2021 from June 21, 2021; (2) move the Quality of Life Committee and Transportation and Infrastructure Committee meetings back to its normal meeting date of June 21, 2021; (3) move the Housing and Homelessness Solutions Committee and the Government Performance and Financial Management Committee meetings from June 15, 2021 to June 22, 2021; and (4) move the June 23, 2021 briefing date to June 16, 2021 and June 16, 2021 agenda date to June 23, 2021 by Resolution No. 21-0436.

FISCAL INFORMATION
No cost consideration to the City. The FY 2021-22 General Fund budget includes $600,000 in additional funding in Dallas Fire Rescue and $7,500 in additional funding for Building Services for the additional holidays. The cost of each additional holiday may vary based on minimum staffing requirements in departments such as Dallas Fire Rescue, and Sanitation. Other City departments that work on holidays will reschedule the holiday to avoid increased cost. Additional holidays may result in lost productivity.
