BACKGROUND

This item authorizes the second step of acquisition for condemnation by eminent domain to acquire a wastewater easement from Angela Hickman Scott, Alvin'a Scott, Alvin Scott, Jr. and Andrew Scott of approximately 11,826 square feet of land, located near the intersection of University Hills Boulevard and Camp Wisdom Road for the University Hills Infrastructure Project. An offer was presented to the property owners on March 9, 2021 reflecting the appraised value of $5,373.00. The property is encumbered with title issues and delinquent taxes, and the City will not be able to close the transaction amicably.

The first resolution approved on August 11, 2021, by Resolution No. 21-1216, authorized the purchase in the amount of $8,900.00.

This property will be used for wastewater infrastructure improvements for the University Hills area bounded by University Hills Boulevard, Camp Wisdom Road, Lancaster Road and Wheatland Road. The consideration is based on an independent appraisal. There are no relocation benefits associated.
