BACKGROUND

This action consists of the extending the existing 30" encasement for an existing 12" ECI water by 188 linear feet (LF), as well as extending the existing 54" encasement for an existing 24" PCCP water by 262 LF and water appurtenance adjustments, in conjunction with paving and drainage improvements by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in Interstate Highway 20 from Cockrell Hill Road to Hampton Road. TxDOT has designed the paving and storm drainage facilities, and Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) has designed the water encasement extension. TxDOT has agreed to incorporate DWU's water encasement extensions and appurtenance adjustments into their construction contract and administer the project during construction.

Under the Standard Utility Agreement with the State of Texas, acting through TxDOT, TxDOT will reimburse DWU for the cost of staff salaries for construction inspection and project management required for this project. TxDOT will be responsible for administering the construction of the water encasement extensions and appurtenance adjustments. TxDOT is scheduled to let the construction project in December 2021.
