BACKGROUND

The Master Plan Update for Dallas Love Field was approved by Dallas City Council on September 26, 2018 and included recommendations for streetscape improvements around Dallas Love Field based on feedback from residents and stakeholders in the community. The improvements are intended to provide a more walkable neighborhood and improve pedestrian circulation and safety through enhanced pathways and bike connectivity to other City trails and recreation within the vicinity of the airport.

The current action will provide funding for additional design for extending the improvements to Airdrome Drive and Mockingbird Lane (to Collville Avenue), additional design and coordination at stakeholder request, additional drainage improvements, additional walking paths at the north end of the project, additional external stakeholder coordination and other design tasks, including the removal of planned bus shelters due to Dallas Area Rapid Transit's decreased bus service in the project area.
