BACKGROUND
On January 24, 2018, the City entered into a multi-year agreement with Dallas County Audubon Society, Inc. (a non-profit organization) to manage and operate Cedar Ridge Preserve. The agreement was for a five-year period. The agreement with Dallas Country Audubon Society, Inc. requires the execution of a separate funding contract to authorize the stipends payable during the current year. Funds have been identified and appropriated in the City’s General Fund by authorization of the City Council for the current fiscal year.
This is a recurring annual funding agreement. The stipend payment will support the following programs and services for the period January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2022:
Operate and maintain the Cedar Ridge Preserve for 12 months providing access to the programs on the ecosystem and presentations at community centers and schools.
PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)
On January 24, 2018, City Council authorized a management contract with Dallas County Audubon Society, Inc. dba Audubon Dallas for management and operation of Cedar Ridge Preserve for the Park and Recreation Department for a term of five years by Resolution No. 18-0212.
On November 1, 2018, the Park and Recreation Board authorized a twelve-month funding agreement with Dallas County Audubon Society, Inc. Audubon Dallas for the Cedar Ridge Preserve to provide services and programs within the City of Dallas for the period of January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019.
On December 12, 2018, City Council authorized a twelve-month funding agreement with Dallas County Audubon Society, Inc. dba Audubon Dallas to provide services and programs within the City of Dallas for the period January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019, by Resolution No. 18-1822.
On November 7, 2019, the Park and Recreation Board authorized a twelve-month funding agreement with Dallas County Audubon Society, Inc. Audubon Dallas for the Cedar Ridge Preserve to provide services and programs within the City of Dallas for the period of January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
On December 11, 2019, City Council authorized a twelve-month funding agreement with Dallas County Audubon Society, Inc. dba Audubon Dallas to provide services and programs within the City of Dallas for the period January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020, by Resolution No. 19-1927.
On November 5, 2020, the Park and Recreation Board authorized a twelve-month funding agreement with Dallas County Audubon Society, Inc. Audubon Dallas for the Cedar Ridge Preserve to provide services and programs within the City of Dallas for the period of January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021.
On December 9, 2020, City Council authorized a twelve-month funding agreement with Dallas County Audubon Society, Inc. dba Audubon Dallas to provide services and programs within the City of Dallas for the period January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2021, by Resolution No. 20-1917.
On November 4, 2021, the Park and Recreation Board authorized a twelve-month funding agreement with Dallas County Audubon Society, Inc. Audubon Dallas for the Cedar Ridge Preserve to provide services and programs within the City of Dallas for the period of January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.
