An ordinance (1) appointing six associate (part-time) municipal judges to preside over the City of Dallas Municipal Court of Record for a term ending May 31, 2022; and (2) establishing the salary for the Associate municipal judges and administrative judge - Not to exceed $183,083.00 annually - Financing: No cost consideration to the City General Fund

BACKGROUND
On August 31, 2021, the Judicial Nominating Commission convened and voted to recommend an increase in salary for full-time municipal judges to $140,000.00 to approach the market average for similar positions and an increase in salary for the Administrative Judge to $155,000.00.
On November 22, 2021, the Ad Hoc Judicial Nominating Committee selected 6 of the 13 nominees to be forwarded to the City Council for consideration of appointment to the position of associate (part-time) municipal judge and voted to increase the salary for full-time municipal judges to $135,000.00 based on staff recommendation and an increase in salary for the Administrative Judge to $150,000.00.

On November 22, 2021, the Ad Hoc Judicial Nominating Committee selected 6 of the 13 nominees to be forwarded to the City Council for consideration of appointment to the position of associate (part-time) municipal judge.
FISCAL INFORMATION
No cost consideration to the City. The FY 2022 budget will be amended in the FY 2022 mid-year appropriation adjustment ordinance to support the salary adjustments. Funding will be allocated from funds set aside in Non-Departmental salary and benefit stabilization for the continued implementation of additional phases of the total compensation study.
Financing: General Fund $183,083.00 annually
