BACKGROUND

The subrecipient agreements will provide for essential needs, and economic and financial stability support services to low-to-moderate income residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic for the Office of Community Care. Support services will include:

* Food accessibility through contactless grocery delivery
* Transportation assistance by providing Dallas Area Rapid Transit passes or rider credits
* Financial assistance for health care expenses, funding to support telehealth service and insurance payments
* Funding to support community mental health and health care access

The program will target low-and moderate-income clients who are among the identified populations highlighted by the 2017 Mayor's Task Force on Poverty. The populations are, individuals living in poverty, individuals with transportation challenges, families with children living in poverty, individuals with limited educational attainment, individuals with limited English proficiency, and youth at increased risk of teen pregnancy.
