BACKGROUND

 

This item authorizes the abandonment of a portion of a drainage and utility easement to Connecticut at White Rock, LLC, the abutting owner, containing approximately 63,564 square feet of land. The area will be included with the property of the abutting owner for a multi-family development. The owner will dedicate approximately 18,534 square feet of land needed for a water easement. A prior abandonment was passed by Ordinance No. 31559 and became null and void and no longer effective due to unmet timeline to replat. The cost for this abandonment is the minimum processing fee pursuant to the Dallas City Code, therefore, no appraisal is required.

 

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

 

On June 24, 2020, City Council authorized the abandonment of a portion of a drainage and utility easement to Connecticut at White Rock, LLC the abutting owner, containing approximately 63,564 square feet of land, located near the intersection of Gaston and Grand Avenues; and providing for the dedication of approximately 18,211 square feet of land need for a water easement by Resolution No. 20-0987; Ordinance No. 31559.
