BACKGROUND

On February 2, 2021, the Office of Procurement Services received eight proposals from a Request for Competitive Sealed Proposals (RFCSP) (BRZ21-00015563) funded under the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) for emergency shelter services for the homeless and, following the evaluation process, recommended award to the most advantageous proposers.

On June 23, 2021, City Council authorized a one-year contract, with two one-year renewal options, for emergency shelter services for the homeless for the Office of Homeless Solutions - Family Gateway, Inc. in the amount of $135,000.00, The Salvation Army A Georgia Corp in the amount of $175,000.00, and Austin Street Center, formerly known as Shelter Ministries of Dallas dba Austin Street Center, in the amount of $155,000.00.

The contracts provide for emergency shelter services for the homeless. Grant funding for these contracts provides programming to support the homeless response system by improving the number and quality of emergency shelters for homeless individuals and families. Additionally, these contracts assist organizations in operating homeless shelters, and provide essential services to shelter residents. This program may also provide funds to provide emergency shelter services during inclement weather.
