Body
BACKGROUND

This action will authorize a construction contract with Gibson & Associates, Inc., lowest responsible bidder of two, to provide construction services for Dallas Union Bikeway Connector Project from Houston Street and Nowitzki Way to the intersection of Harwood Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway access road.

This project provides for the construction services needed for bicycle and pedestrian improvements. On December 13, 2017, City Council adopted the Downtown Dallas 360 Plan Update. This plan included a list of streets with proposed bicycle and pedestrian improvements in downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods. The list covers the streets affected by this project.

The Dallas Union Bikeway Connector Project will include construction of pavement markings, concrete sidewalks, barrier free ramps, street signage, traffic signal modification and other miscellaneous items necessary to complete the project, in accordance with the plans and specifications
