Body

BACKGROUND

Dallas Water Utilities has identified 8 locations experiencing severe erosion where creek banks need to be stabilized to protect existing structures and critical infrastructure. Engineering solutions have been developed and construction plans and specifications were prepared and advertised for construction bids for these locations experiencing severe erosion.

This action will authorize a construction contract to implement engineering solutions to address critical erosion at these locations. The project improvements consist of the installation of gabion walls and gabion mattresses for erosion control at the following eight locations: Cedar Branch Culvert at West Clarendon Drive, 2625, 2641, 2663, 2667, 2687, and 2691 Deep Hill Circle, 3918 Pyka Drive, West Kiest Boulevard at Five Mile Creek, 408 Glen Oaks Boulevard, Joe’s Creek Location No. 6 near Walnut Hill Lane and Bowman Boulevard, Bonnie View Road over Five Mile Creek, and 8903, 8907, and 8911 Club Creek Circle. At Bonnie View Road over Five Mile Creek work is also being done to armor and protect the foundation of the bridge in coordination with Public Works. The construction of the proposed gabion walls and mattresses will address critical erosion concerns at these locations, protecting residential structures and infrastructure.
