BACKGROUND

Since 1967, the City of Dallas has worked with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to support clean air monitoring and enforcement of air quality regulations through a set of annually renewed contracts for services.

Under this contract, TCEQ funds the City's Air Pollution Compliance Program. In the City's Air Pollution Compliance Program, City environmental specialists conduct periodic inspections and site visits to industries and business in Dallas that have the potential to emit pollutants, as defined in the Dallas City Code.
