BACKGROUND

This item authorizes a five-year lease agreement, with two five-year renewal options with ChildCare Group, Texas for approximately 13,607 square feet of office space located at 2922 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, Building D. This lease will provide for a childcare center that offers support and child socialization skill development activities to low income families.

With a profound commitment to helping families raise intellectually, emotionally and physically healthy young children, ChildCare Group, Texas ("Childcare Group") works to end the cycle of intergenerational poverty in the community by utilizing the research-based Two-Generational Approach that links high-quality early childhood education programs with other core programs and services that help families increase self-sufficiency. Using the Early Head Start and Head Start program model, ChildCare Group provides high quality early childhood services that go beyond the classroom to serve the physical, social and emotional development of young children. Teachers develop Individualized Education Plans for each child and keep parents informed on their children's progress along developmental norms.
