Authorize (1) the rejection of bids for a construction services contract for the 2023 Resurfacing Contract No. PBW-2022-00019324; and (2) the re-advertisements for new bids - Financing: No cost consideration to the City

BACKGROUND
This action will authorize the rejection of the one bid received for the 2023 Resurfacing Contract PBW-2022-00019324, due to the bid received being 41 percent higher than the Engineer’s estimate. Texas Materials Group, dba Texas Bit submitted the only bid received on Friday, September 9, 2022, in the amount of $67,792,955.10. 2023 Resurfacing Contract PBW-2022-00019324 is anticipated to be re-advertised for a new round of competitive bids and bring the construction services contract to City Council for consideration at the January 26, 2023, City Council meeting.
This project was publicly advertised for two consecutive weeks on August 24, 2022 and August 31, 2022 for the 2023 Resurfacing Contract PBW-2022-00019324. One sealed bid was received and opened on Friday, September 9, 2022.
