BACKGROUND
Prior to the beginning of each state legislative session, the City of Dallas has historically adopted a state legislative program. The legislative program sets forth issues of interest to the City and gives the City Attorney’s Office the authority to pursue legislation that supports those issue outlined in the program, as well as oppose any legislation that diminishes resources or home-rule authority.

The Ad Hoc Committee on Legislative Affairs was briefed on August 2, 2022.
The Ad Hoc Committee on Legislative Affairs was briefed on September 13, 2022.
On September 28, 2022, this item was deferred by Councilmember Tennell Atkins.
