BACKGROUND
On June 24, 2022 the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade which prevented individual states from directly banning access to safe and legal abortions.
During its January 17, 2023 meeting, the Quality of Life, Arts, and Culture Committee voted to recommend approval of a resolution commemorating the 50th anniversary of Roe v. Wade and affirming the city's support for abortion rights.
