BACKGROUND

 

This action will authorize Change Order No. 2 to increase funding to the construction service contract with Tiseo Paving Company to provide additional safety related modifications and make related adjustments in the field caused by unforeseeable right-of-way acquisitions necessary to complete the Dolphin Road Project - Dolphin Road from Spring Avenue to north of Haskell Avenue/Military Parkway and will also authorize extending the contract term a total of 180 calendar days. Change Order No. 2 will increase the contract amount by $184,100.00, from $6,933,288.50 to $7,117,388.50.

 

The additional scope of work includes providing hot mix asphalt concrete to temporarily resurface an area along Dolphin Road from Mingo Street northbound to Haskell Avenue/Military Parkway, making necessary valve adjustments and providing related roadway striping along this area.

 

Tiseo Paving Company is a registered vendor with the City of Dallas.

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

 

On October 13, 2020, the City Council authorized a construction services contract with Tiseo Paving Company for the street reconstruction of Dolphin Road from Spring Avenue to north of Haskell Avenue/Military Parkway, in an amount not to exceed $6,800,664.75, by Resolution No. 20-1521.

 

On December 14, 2022, the City Council authorized an increase in the construction services contract with Tiseo Paving Company for additional work on Dolphin Road from Spring Avenue to north of Haskell Avenue/Military Parkway, in the amount of $132,623.75, increasing the contract amount from $6,800,664.75 to $6,933,288.50, by Resolution No. 22-1765.
