BACKGROUND

 

This action will authorize a construction services contract with Roadway Solutions, Inc., lowest responsible bidder of four, to reconstruct two traffic signals as part of services for the Warranted Traffic Signal Installations - November 2022 Project.

 

Bid specifications were developed and publicly advertised on November 16, 2022, for competitive bids associated with the Warranted Traffic Signal Installations - November 2022 Project. Bids were opened on January 6, 2023.

Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds are eligible within the Qualified Census Tract areas to improve various intersections to promote the safety of all right-of-way users including motorist, cyclists, and pedestrians.

PRIOR ACTION/REVIEW (COUNCIL, BOARDS, COMMISSIONS)

 

On June 23, 2021, the City Council authorized the acceptance of grant funds from the U.S. Department of Treasury for the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund to provide relief during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic by Resolution No. 21-1149.

 

On September 22, 2021, the City Council authorized the final reading and adoption of the appropriation ordinance for the FY 2021-22 City of Dallas Operating, Capital, and Grant & Trust Budgets, which included the ARPA funds from the U.S. Department of Treasury for the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Funds by Resolution No. 21-1590.

 

On January 26, 2022, the City Council authorized an Interlocal Agreement with Dallas County in the amount of $50,000.00 to fulfill requirements associated with the Specific Use Permit for the traffic signal upgrade at 6820 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway at the North Dallas Government Center by Resolution No. 22-0237.
