Authorize a construction services contract for the construction of the Jefferson/Twelfth Connector Lane Diet/Removal Project - Jeske Construction Co., lowest responsible bidder of two - Not to exceed $4,661,560.00 - Financing: Street and Transportation (A) Fund (2017 General Obligation Bond Funds) ($3,811,812.00), Water Capital Improvement F Fund ($679,654.00), and Wastewater Capital Improvement G Fund ($126,394.00), Water Construction Fund ($31,325.00) and Wastewater Construction Fund ($12,375.00)

BACKGROUND
This action will authorize a construction services contract with Jeske Construction Co. for the construction of the Jefferson/Twelfth Connector Lane Diet/Removal Project.
The project scope will include the construction of reinforced concrete pavement, driveways, storm sewer, water and wastewater improvements, irrigation plan, lighting layout, planting plan, and other miscellaneous items necessary to complete the project in accordance with the plans and specifications.
Jeske Construction Co. is a Dallas-based corporation, operating within the corporate city limits of Dallas, Texas.

The purpose of the project is to calm traffic in the area by removing the Jefferson/Twelfth Connector and constructing a park in its place. If the project is not awarded, vehicles will continue to speed causing hazardous conditions.

On September 14, 2022, the City Council authorized the rejection of one bid for the construction services contract for Jefferson/Twelfth Connector Lane Diet/Removal and the readvertisement for new bids by Resolution No. 22-1356.
