BACKGROUND

The Public Improvement District Act, of the Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 372 (the Act), allows a city to create a hotel-public improvement district (hotel-PID) and to collect assessments from Qualifying hotel property owners. On June 13, 2012, the Dallas City Council established a hotel-PID named the Dallas Tourism Public Improvement District (the District). The District's boundaries are non-contiguous and include designated Qualifying hotel properties, as approved by City Council when the District was renewed on August 10, 2016, by Resolution No. 16-1250 and expanded on March 25, 2020. by Resolution No. 20-0520 and on June 8, 2022, by Resolution No. 22-0897.
